People's Panel on Climate Change launched

A NEW residents’ panel on climate change is being created to help shape Copeland’s response to the environmental crisis.
Copeland Borough Council is in the process of forming a People’s Panel made up of randomly selected residents from across the local area who will meet, debate and make recommendations to the council and other organisations taking part on where their priorities should lie to achieve the ambition of becoming a net-zero carbon borough.
Businesses urged not to miss out on payments of up to £18,000

COPELAND Council is urging eligible businesses to come forward if they have not yet claimed their Restart Grant, before June 30.
Grants of up to £18,000 are being paid to businesses in the hospitality, leisure, personal care and accommodation sectors. Grants of up to £6,000 are being paid to non-essential retail businesses.
Businesses must have been trading on April 1, 2021 to be eligible to receive funding under the Restart grant scheme.
Time running out to respond to shopfront consultation

TIME is running out for Copeland’s residents and businesses to have their say on the borough’s shopfronts.
Copeland Borough Council is in the process of developing a Shopfront Design Guide Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) to help ensure attractive and effective shopfronts are provided and maintained in towns and villages.
