The Welcome Back campaign
The Welcome Back Fund
The government's £56m Welcome Back Fund aimed to boost the look and feel of high streets and seaside towns, and help councils prepare for the safe return of shoppers and tourists, following the pandemic.
How we spent our funding
Copeland was awarded £159,000 from the Welcome Back Fund. Among the projects were: the commissioning of stunning video footage to use in marketing the area, community picnic benches throughout the borough, litter picking kits for all our communities, a mural, and useful maps for visitors.
