Copeland leads way in safeguarding children

COPELAND Council is the first in Cumbria to train every single staff member to be able to spot the signs that could mean a child is at risk.
Front line staff who have contact with families have always been trained in this, however this is the first time the whole organisation has undergone the training.

Copeland Borough Council and The Food Standards Agency is urging people to look before they book and check the food hygiene rating.
Preparing cemeteries for spring

All Copeland cemeteries including Whitehaven, Hensingham, Millom, Nether Wasdale and Beckermet will be receiving maintenance over the next few weeks in order to prepare the grounds for spring. This work is to ensure a high and consistent level of upkeep.
As part of this work Copeland Borough Council will be removing Christmas wreaths and decorations from all their cemeteries by 2 March 2015.
