Council reaffirms green commitment

COPELAND Council has reaffirmed its commitment to a cleaner, greener environment.
At yesterday's full council meeting, Copeland's members endorsed the new Environmental Policy, which says the borough's drive for regeneration and investment must be coupled with a focus on sustainable growth.
Copeland's portfolio holder for the environment, Coun David Banks, said: "We must lead by example, being environmentally responsible in every service we deliver - as well as encouraging a low carbon economy across the borough."
Copeland Hosts National Nuclear Conference

Copeland Borough Council is proud to announce it will be hosting this year's New Nuclear Local Authorities Group Conference.
The Conference is being held at Summergrove Halls and runs from tomorrow (Wednesday March 8) until Friday March 10.
The New Nuclear Local Authorities Group (NNLAG) includes 15 local authorities from across the UK who are likely to be affected by and benefit from proposals for new nuclear power stations either within or close to their boundaries.
