Copeland Council has helped 66 disabled people preserve their independence and stay living in their own homes in the last year.
The council offers disabled facilities grants – money to pay for adaptations to make home life easier for disabled people and their carers.
Copeland Community Fund is looking to recruit

The Copeland Community Fund is looking to recruit up to 3 Independent Board Members to serve a two year term on the Copeland Community Fund Project Board.
The Fund is looking for individuals who have a strong interest in the economic, social and environmental advancement of Copeland. You would also need to be able to devote the necessary time and effort to this voluntary role. The Fund is keen to hear from applicants from all backgrounds who can help set the direction of the Fund for the benefit of the local community.

Colourful choice at Market Hall

Copeland Council is seeking the public’s help in deciding the colour of an iconic building in Whitehaven.
Work is continuing on the Market Hall, ready for council staff to move there in the autumn. The reception and customer services department will be there, as well as some other staff. Many other staff will remain in the Copeland Centre.
The revamped hall will also include a public toilet on the side of the grade ll listed building.
