Proposals Map 2013-28 and Saved Policies
The Copeland Local Plan 2013-2028 Core Strategy and Development Management Policies replaced the majority of policies in the Copeland Local Plan 2001-2016, except for a number of policies specifically relating to allocations of land that were ‘saved’ from the Copeland Local Plan 2001-2016. These ‘saved’ policies will remain part of the Development Plan until they are superseded by policies and allocations in the new Local Plan 2017-2035.
The purpose of this document is to extract the remaining saved policies and allocations from the Copeland Local Plan 2001-2016 together into a smaller and easier to navigate form
New telephone number for Copeland Council

Copeland Borough Council is introducing a new, one-stop-shop telephone number for all enquiries about the services they provide.
Free Canine Healthchecks

COPELAND residents are invited to bring their dogs along for a free pet health check around the borough next week.
The borough council’s enforcement staff have teamed up with the People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals to stage the events at four places, starting in Cleator Moor on Tuesday.

A PROJECT to log the condition of listed buildings has been a resounding success thanks to volunteers from Copeland.
People who assessed Grade II listed buildings back in 2013 have been called on to pass their skills to volunteers in Allerdale, so that they can carry out a similar project there.

A FUN hands–on activity learning about and removing invasive weeds is to take place in near Cleator.
Staff from West Cumbria Rivers Trust will help people “go on the pull” and remove the invasive non–native Himalayan Balsam from Longlands Lake and upstream reaches of the River Ehen.
