Copeland residents’ can receive bills by email

COPELAND residents’ can now receive Council Tax and Business Rates bills by email.
This service is one of a series of digital upgrades to the Council’s revenue service.
In addition to e-billing, the Council Tax Portal was launched in 2018 allowing residents to set up a direct debit, view Council Tax details, report a change of address and search for a Council Tax band.
Copeland Borough Council continues to urge residents to pay their council tax bills through direct debit using the portal.

Recycling fun for Robert

A recent visitor to Copeland Borough Council's waste and recycling depot declared it "really cool."
Four-year-old Robert Thomsen is a big fan of recycling and waste trucks, so his mum Sarah asked if he could come and see the real thing at the team's Moresby base.
Robert enjoyed seeing the depot and sitting in the trucks with his dad Simon.
Ambitious coastal project given the go-ahead

AN innovative and ambitious project for a coastal challenge route in Copeland has been given the green light.
The recreational route, which will stretch from Whitehaven to Millom, will feature adrenalin activities, cycling facilities and art installations at various intervals along its unbroken 40 -mile trail, and will be available all year round.
Work will begin immediately and will be complete in time to host the first of what will become an annual mass participation event in September next year.
Copeland electorate to receive polling cards

COPELAND’S residents will receive their polling cards this week ahead of three elections in May.
Residents will go to the polls on Thursday, May 2 to vote for a Directly Elected Mayor and 33 councillors to represent the borough. Elections may also be contested for a number of town/parish council seats.
Nominations are now open and the deadline for candidates’ completed forms is 4pm on Wednesday, April 3.
