Crematorium to hold Christmas memorial service

A SPECIAL memorial service offering people the chance to remember their loved ones will take place this Christmas.
Distington Hall Crematorium will host its second annual Christmas event on Wednesday, December 18, including carols, music and readings, followed by light refreshments. Guests will also have the opportunity to light a candle or hang a tag on the Christmas tree in memory of a loved one.
A new addition to the service this year will be a visual tribute, with loved ones’ names displayed on the crematorium’s screens.
Copeland residents to receive polling cards

COPELAND’S residents will receive their polling cards this week ahead of next month’s General Election.
Residents will go to the polls on Thursday, December 12 to vote for Copeland’s Member of Parliament.
Nominations are now open and the deadline for candidates’ completed forms is 4pm on Thursday, November 14.
Free parking for Christmas event

COPELAND Borough Council and Whitehaven Harbour Commissioners are supporting Sunday's Christmas lights switch-on event in Whitehaven by offering free parking in town.
Copeland Council is offering free parking all day in the car parks it operates in Whitehaven: School House Lane, Senhouse Street, Whitehaven Sports Centre, Copeland Centre, The Ginns, The Beacon Museum and North Shore.
Whitehaven Harbour Commissioners is offering free parking from noon at Quay Street North and South, Wellington Inn, Tangier Street and Queens Dock.
