Five secure work in the care sector

FIVE unemployed Copeland residents have secured work in the care sector after a successful collaborative training course.
Copeland Work and Skills Partnership ran the programme, alongside Wyndham Manor Care Home in Cleator Moor, to offer eight unemployed residents a series of care-related training sessions – delivered digitally through Google Classrooms due to the Covid-19 crisis.
Five of the participants have now taken up roles at Wyndham Manor as Care Coordinators, Support Workers, Domestic Assistants, and Kitchen Assistants.
Copeland's Best Kept Garden revealed

COPELAND Council has announced the winner of its first Best Kept Garden competition.
Linda and David Park, of Bigrigg, impressed judges with their colourful planting, flawless lawn and healthy greenery.
Copeland's Elected Mayor, Mike Starkie, visited Linda and David's garden to see the fruits of their labour for himself. He said: "It is an incredibly well-kept garden, and a total credit to them both. They obviously take a real pride in it. I'm delighted for them and hope they enjoy many sunny days there this summer."
