Face coverings to be worn for crematorium services

GUESTS at Distington Hall Crematorium will be required to wear face coverings when they attend services from Monday, August 10, in line with new national guidelines.
The latest Government guidance strongly encourages people to wear a face covering in enclosed public spaces, and this extends to funeral services in crematoria. A number of exemptions apply and a full list can be found at the link below.
Guests should bring and wear their own face covering when they are attending a service.
Businesses urged to apply for grants before deadline

BUSINESSES in Copeland are being urged to apply for cash grants before the deadline expires at the end of August.
Copeland Council has so far awarded over £16 million to more than 1,400 businesses across the borough that were eligible for financial support due to the impacts of the Covid-19 crisis.
The final two schemes that remain open for applications – the Small Business Grant Fund and the Retail, Leisure and Hospitality Grant Fund – must close to applicants on August 28.
