Businesses in Copeland invited to apply for grant

APPLICATIONS for the Government’s Local Restrictions Support Grant are now open in Copeland.
Copeland Borough Council has launched the scheme which will support businesses that are required to close under the current lockdown restrictions.
Eligible businesses are those that have been forced to close by Government and include non-essential retail, leisure, personal care, sports facilities and hospitality businesses.
A single grant to cover a four-week period will be paid to each eligible business. These grant amounts will be fixed.

Work set to start on Millom Park upgrade

WORK is set to start on a major upgrade of Millom Play Park.
State-of-the-art climbing towers and slides, group swings and spinning equipment will be installed at the St George's Road park by April 2021 in the first phase of a redevelopment programme. Groundwork will take place before Christmas and installation of the new equipment will start in January.
Millom Town Council is leading on the redevelopment, having received just over £200,000 of Copeland Council’s successful bid to the Government accelerated funding scheme as part of the Towns Fund programme.
