Popular market moves to The Rum Story

Published: 04/10/2021

A POPULAR Whitehaven market will move indoors on Saturday (October 9) to The Rum Story.

The Young Entrepreneurs Market, run by Copeland Borough Council, has traditionally been held on King Street, Whitehaven.

It will now move indoors to shield stall holders and visitors from the Cumbrian winter weather and partner with the Whitehaven town centre tourist attraction.

Tourism businesses helped to bounce back with first Residents' Week

Published: 30/09/2021

COPELAND Council is looking forward to next week's Residents' Week, designed to help businesses bounce back after the pandemic.

Copeland's portfolio holder for tourism, Coun Steve Morgan, said: "This initiative should encourage people to get out on to their high streets and interact with local businesses. Everyone who spends £10 with a participating business is entered into a prize draw. Businesses have donated all kinds of amazing gifts and experiences.

"If there are any businesses who haven't yet signed up, I'd urge them to do so."
