More views sought on potential Gypsy and Traveller site

COPELAND Council is asking residents about the allocation of land at Sneckyeat in Hensingham as a potential permanent site for Gypsy and Traveller accommodation.

This second round of consultation starts today and runs until August 24. It also asks residents to comment on a new policy around nutrient neutrality in watercourses.

Copeland's Portfolio Holder for Strategic Planning, Coun Andy Pratt, said: "We are legally required to identify land to meet the needs of all communities, including Gypsies and Travellers.
