Copeland Council's Christmas arrangements and key contact numbers

COPELAND Borough Council will be closed to the public – other than for emergency matters - from 5pm on Wednesday, December 23.

Officers will be available to handle all enquiries again from 9am on Monday, January 4.

Please be reminded that all Copeland’s Council’s offices remain closed to the public due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and that its officers are available by phone or email, up to December 23 and after January 4.

Copeland Council welcomes Energy White Paper

In response to the Government's publication of its Energy White Paper, the following statement is made by Councillor David Moore, Copeland Council's Portfolio Holder for Nuclear and Corporate Services:

Residents urged to 'recycle right' this Christmas

COPELAND Council is asking residents to help ‘recycle right’ this Christmas.

The council is anticipating the usual rise in recycling over Christmas and while staff resources are still depleted by the pandemic, it hopes the service will continue to run smoothly.

Wet-led pubs in Copeland invited to apply for £1,000 grant

COPELAND Borough Council is inviting wet-led pubs in Copeland to apply for a £1,000 Christmas Support Payment.

The Government grant for wet-led pubs is a one-off payment for premises that fall under Tier 2 or 3 restrictions between December 2 and 29.

Cumbria is currently under Tier 2, therefore the borough’s wet-led pubs are eligible for this payment.

Wet-led pubs are those that derive under 50 per cent of their income from food sales.
