Cumbria Residents Week in Copeland

TOURISM businesses in Copeland are being encouraged to sign up to an initiative promoting the county’s fantastic visitor attractions to local residents.

The first ever Cumbria Residents’ Week will take place from October 2 to October 10 2021, with all businesses operating in the visitor economy invited to take part.

It is hoped that the scheme will help the business community bounce back from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic by encouraging residents to sample the great attractions, venues, eateries, hotels and shops on their doorstep.

Sustainability strategy for Copeland

Copeland Council’s new Sustainability Strategy for 2022/23 puts the sustainability agenda at the heart of everything we do. We have established a science-based carbon budget for the whole of Copeland aligned to limiting global heating to well below two degrees and making efforts to keep the rise to one point five degrees.

This strategy is our commitment to putting social and environmental sustainability at the centre of our decision-making.
