Copeland residents invited to have their say on Local Plan changes

Published: 13/09/2021

COPELAND residents are being invited to have their say on significant changes to the Local Plan that are being considered.

The Council is in the process of developing a new Local Plan, which will guide development and investment in the borough until 2035.

Local Plans are used to help decide on planning applications and other planning related decisions. They are the local guide to what can be built where, shaping infrastructure investments and setting out the vision for development in the borough.

Copeland’s shopfronts set for improvement

Published: 08/09/2021

TODAY (Tuesday) Copeland Council has adopted a document that will help improve the quality of shopfronts within Copeland’s towns and villages.

The Shopfront Design Guide Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) will help ensure attractive, effective and appropriate shopfronts are provided and maintained.

The draft document was agreed by Councillors in April, and a six-week consultation was launched to give residents, businesses and interested parties the opportunity to comment on a draft of the SPD before a final version was produced.
