Mayor inspects new £350,000 sports pitch

PLAYING sports all year round has become much easier in Cleator Moor thanks to the addition of a new £350,000 3G pitch.

 The new 3G pitch has been installed at Cleator Moor Activity Centre and was funded from the £500,000 accelerated Towns Fund grant Copeland Council and Cleator Moor Town Fund Board successfully secured last year.

 The facility is run by GLL on Copeland Borough Council’s behalf and the pitch was installed by Maryport-based SIS Pitches.

Two Community Partnerships formed to look at a Geological Disposal Facility

TWO Community Partnerships will be formed in Copeland after the council agreed to move forward to the next stage in the process to search for a possible site to host a Geological Disposal Facility.

Copeland Borough Council’s Executive voted today to continue to represent the communities identified as Search Areas going forward in the process.
