Your kerbside collection - more detail

The scheme uses three plastic boxes and one large white weighted bag to collect five materials.

The green box is for glass, the black one is for metals and plastic, and the blue one is for paper. Card goes into your weighted bag.

Find out what can go in each box/bag: plasticpaper, metalglasscard.

You can arrange to collect soft elastic lids (which can be tied securely to the boxes) from our offices. Please do not put boxes out with rigid lids on, as it slows down the collections and the lids can become lost or broken.

Your collection might not happen until later in the day or even the next day if there are some unforeseen circumstances - please leave it out for collection and we will get to it as soon as we can. See our disrupted collections page to find out about delayed collections. We also post on social media when there's been a delay, but we can't answer questions about individual missed collections through social media.

We sometimes collect card separately - please don't think that we have forgotten the rest of your recycling. And we might sometimes collect in a different vehicle, or using a bin lift. Everything still goes for recycling - your recycling is not being mixed in with household waste.

You do not have to put all the containers out every fortnight. In fact, one of the most environmentally friendly things you can do is to only put them out when they're full or very nearly full. It is better to collect a full box once a month than half a one every fortnight.
