Egremont's mural revealed

Published: 08/04/2022

A huge new mural now welcomes visitors to Egremont.

The mural, depicting local traditions, is on the side of the DeMounters building, beside the main road through the town.

It has been made possible with Copeland Council's Welcome Back Funding.

The mural shows Egremont Castle, the greasy pole, a crab apple tree, a trail hound, a rugby union cap, a miner's lamp, a cricket ball and a fish.

It was created by Cumbrian street artists Beardy Synergy.

 What is the energy rebate?

A £150 payment for occupied households in council tax bands A-D is part of the government’s initiative to help households with rising energy costs. It is being paid through the council tax system, but it is a payment, not a reduction on your council tax bill.

How can I check if I am eligible for the rebate?

Council tax bands can be checked here: Dashboard (copeland.gov.uk)
