Nutrient neutrality - principles
There are a number of principles that any nutrient neutrality mitigation would need to meet in order for it to meet the requirements of the Habitat Regulations.

On March 16, 2022, we received a nutrient neutrality notification from Natural England in relation to the River Derwent and Bassenthwaite Lake Special Area of Conservation (SAC).
The letter advised that within the identified catchment area of this protected habitat site certain types of new development such as housing has the potential to cause adverse impacts through nutrient pollution.

Residents train for jobs in the care sector

EIGHT Copeland residents have successfully completed a collaborative training course preparing them for work in the health and social care sector.
Our Work and Skills Partnership (CWSP) ran the programme, alongside Wyndham Manor Care Home in Cleator Moor.
Eight unemployed residents were enrolled in a series of training sessions and employability skills workshops. The course concluded with interviews for positions at Wyndham Manor Care Home.
