View and comment on planning applications

Due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) all public access to our Council offices is prohibited.

Current applications can now be viewed online using the Planning Application Search Tool.

The Council is currently reviewing how it can make hard copies of planning documents available to the public for inspection. Further details will be issued as soon as possible.

Any queries in the interim should be submitted to Development.Control@copeland.gov.uk

There are several ways that you can find details of planning applications.

View planning applications online

You can view planning applications and associated plans and documents lodged from June 1, 2020 onwards through the Planning Application Search Tool.

Weekly list

We publish a weekly list of the following:

Planning applications received

Planning applications determined

Planning records search

A summary of all planning records since 2005 relating to any specific property or piece of land can be viewed using the GIS. Go to 'my property' and type in your postcode, you will then see a tab for 'my planning' and this will give you information on all current planning applications near where you live.
