Private Hire Driver Licence

To drive a licensed Private Hire Vehicle you must have a Private Hire Driver Licence.

You must first apply for a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Certificate by following the procedure in the application pack.

You must submit your application together with the following documents:

• A full DVLA driving licence which you must have held for 12 months (photo card and a check code from the DVLA website to enable the Licensing Team to check any endorsements on your driving licence)

• A medical certificate (see medical form)

• 2 x passport size colour photographs

• The licence fee of £150

• Valid DBS certificate

Once we have all your correct information, a white Private Hire Driver's badge will be issued to you for a period of three years.
