The proclamation

Details on the proclamation of the new sovereign, both nationally and county-wide, can be found on Cumbria County Council’s website.

In Copeland the Elected Mayor, Mike Starkie, will read the proclamation in Copeland at St Nicholas’s Gardens in Whitehaven, at 12:30pm on Sunday, September 11. This will follow a short procession from the Green Market gazebo.

Books of condolence

Those wishing to sign a book of condolence in memory of Her Majesty are asked to sign the e-book, available on Buckingham palace’s website.

Alternatively, condolence books can be found at Whitehaven’s Market Hall, Whitehaven Library, Egremont Library, Cleator Moor Library, Seascale Library and Millom Library during their opening hours.

Flowers

We ask that any remembrance flowers are left at Whitehaven’s Green Market gazebo, which is located directly opposite the Council’s Market Hall building.

We request that flowers are left without the cellophane where possible.
