Copeland Open for Business goes global

A unique video of Copeland, which welcomed more than 300 representatives from businesses across the UK to Copeland Borough Council’s economic conference is set to showcase the region to a worldwide audience.

 

Produced by Adamedia Ltd as their contribution to the Copeland Open for Business Conference, the film takes you on a bird’s eye view tour of the borough, featuring the business and economic developments alongside the beauty and leisure opportunities of the coastline and countryside.

Hensingham pulls together for clear-up

RESIDENTS are aiming to spruce up Hensingham as the community sets to work on a clean-up this week.

 

Local people, ward councillors and staff from Home Group and Wilmott Dixon will all be pitching in on Friday, September 11,from 1pm. Copeland Council’s cleansing team will also clean in the area that day in support of the event, and clear away the collected waste afterwards

 

Grants Promote Independence

Grants promote independence

Copeland Council has helped 66 disabled people preserve their independence and stay living in their own homes in the last year.

 

The council offers disabled facilities grants – money to pay for adaptations to make home life easier for disabled people and their carers.

 

Business Broadband Vouchers

Copeland businesses with a CA postcode looking to update to a faster, more reliable internet connection can apply for a grant of up to £3,000 as Copeland Borough Council’s Executive agree to sign up to the Carlisle City Broadband Voucher scheme.

 

The Executive also agreed to lobby to have the scheme extended to include areas in the south of the borough with the LA postcode.

 

Beacon Museum Cumbria Tourism Awards

The Beacon Museum is a finalist in the 2015 Cumbria Tourism Awards, just two months after receiving a VisitEngland Welcome Accolade.

The Beacon Museum in Whitehaven is in the final three for the Large Visitor Attraction of the Year, sponsored by Burnetts Solicitors.

Organisers of the annual event, Cumbria Tourism said the quality of entries continues to rise, resulting in an unprecedented number of shortlisted businesses for 2015.

The Cumbria Tourism Awards celebrate the best Cumbria has to offer and are now in their 13th year.
