Two more fetes for walled garden

Published: 23/09/2022

Festive fun is on the cards at Distington Walled Garden, as two more artisan fetes are announced.

Building on the success of last month’s summer fete, we will run a Harvest Festival on October 29, and a Christmas Market on November 25.

The Harvest Festival will host 14 artisan trade stalls, with ambient live music, a pumpkin carving competition, and much more.

The Christmas Market will provide lots of seasonal fun, from mince pies and Father Christmas, to carols and festive crafts.

On both occasions, guests can enjoy hot food in the newly restored garden, and sample delicious drinks and nibbles from local traders.

Councillor Andy Pratt, Copeland’s Portfolio Holder for Parks and Open Spaces, said: “We know how much everyone enjoyed the summer fete earlier this year, and these new events should attract even more new visitors to this fantastic space.

“We are seeing more and more volunteers pitching in to help the garden look its best. The garden is now a great venue for events like this thanks to them.”
