Artisan crafts to fill community garden

Enjoy the vibrant surroundings at our Artisan Fete next weekend.

On Saturday, August 6, an array of local businesses will be showcasing their crafts at an outdoor market in Distington Walled Garden.

Younger visitors can bring along their entries for fun craft competitions and join in bunting making on the day – there’s even a pony to pet.

Alongside the market, guests can sample tasty homemade produce, in the newly restored community garden.

All are welcome to refreshments – adult visitors can purchase a glass of prosecco, or even taste some of the artisan gins on sale.

The craft competitions are: those aged four and under can show off their interpretation of a garden on a plate, ages five to nine can compete for the most creatively decorated pebble, and children aged 10 to 16 can craft a picture of a Victorian garden.

Entries must be made before the event and handed to the judges before 11am on the day – the winners of each age category will get a prize.

For more information about the event, contact Copeland’s Bereavement Services team at distingtonhalladmin@copeland.gov.uk or by calling 01946 598305.
