Copeland Council bank holiday arrangements

COPELAND Council has the made the following arrangements for the coming bank holidays (Friday, April 2 and Monday, April 5).

All household waste, recycling and garden waste collections will be as normal on Friday, April 2.

Collections will then take place one day later than normal in the week beginning Monday, April 5 (including a Saturday collection for those who would ordinarily be collected on Friday, April 9).

Residents can find out when their next collection will be at www.copeland.gov.uk.   

From 5pm on Thursday, April 1 to 9am on Tuesday, April 6, the council’s out-of-hours emergency number for issues relating to homelessness and domestic abuse support is 01946 598300.

For dangerous structures, call 01946 427121 out of office hours.

For flooding, sandbags requests for residential properties and serious food safety incidents, call 01946 427171 out of office hours. Alternatively, to request sandbags for residential properties, email sandbags@copeland.gov.uk.

Please be reminded that all Copeland Council offices, The Beacon Museum, and Distington Hall Crematorium offices and Chapel of Remembrance, remain closed to the public due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Residents can view the online Book of Remembrance this Easter period at www.copeland.gov.uk
