Copeland Council's Christmas arrangements and key contact numbers

COPELAND Borough Council will be closed to the public – other than for emergency matters - from 5pm on Wednesday, December 23.

Officers will be available to handle all enquiries again from 9am on Monday, January 4.

Please be reminded that all Copeland’s Council’s offices remain closed to the public due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and that its officers are available by phone or email, up to December 23 and after January 4.

The Chapel of Remembrance at Distington Hall Crematorium also remains closed to the public at this time. However the book of remembrance can be viewed online at https://www.copeland.gov.uk/ext/book-remembrance

Household recycling and waste collections scheduled for Friday, December 25 will be collected on Sunday, December 27. 

Collections scheduled on Friday, January 1 will be collected on Saturday, January 2.

All other scheduled days over the Christmas period will be collected as normal.

The Beacon Museum will close at 5pm on December 23 and will reopen at 10am on December 29, and will also close for one day on New Year’s Day.

For flooding, sandbags requests for residential properties and serious food safety incidents, call 01946 427171 out of office hours. Alternatively, to request sandbags for residential properties, email sandbags@copeland.gov.uk.
