Copeland residents’ can receive bills by email

Published: 28/03/2019

COPELAND residents’ can now receive Council Tax and Business Rates bills by email.

This service is one of a series of digital upgrades to the Council’s revenue service.

In addition to e-billing, the Council Tax Portal was launched in 2018 allowing residents to set up a direct debit, view Council Tax details, report a change of address and search for a Council Tax band.

Copeland Borough Council continues to urge residents to pay their council tax bills through direct debit using the portal.

Direct Debit benefits include:

  • bills never being forgotten, lost or delayed in the post as payments are automatically made each month
  • assurance that you are dealing with reputable organisations who have to pass a careful vetting process to use the Direct Debit scheme
  • the direct debit guarantee, also ensures customers get an immediate money back guarantee from their bank in the event of an error in payment, advance notice if the date or amount changes and the right to cancel at any time

To arrange your bill to be sent via email please call 01946 598300, or email ctax@copeland.gov.uk with your account number and preferred email address.
