Business Sites - Whitehaven area

Copeland has a range of properties available for businesses, with premises of varying sizes suited to different uses.

Whitehaven is the main commercial and population centre in Copeland. It is a growing tourist destination with a superbly regenerated harbour area. The following are the main sites in Whitehaven.

Westlakes Science & Technology Park

This major strategic site is two miles south of Whitehaven and is home to around 70 diverse businesses and organisations, many of which provide support services to the nuclear industry. 
Westlakes enables knowledge based businesses to grow and develop by providing high quality accommodation, research links to higher educational institutions and appropriate support structures.
Several serviced development plots are available as well as office accommodation.

Whitehaven Commercial Park

The site is two miles east of Whitehaven at Moresby Parks and has an impressive location looking over the western Lake District fells. The site is managed by the Homes and Communities Agency and various development plots are available for lease.

Haig Enterprise Park

Haig Enterprise Park is a purpose built industrial/business area 1.5 miles south of the centre of Whitehaven.  It is ideal for both new businesses and well established businesses wishing to occupy on either a long or short term basis. It is home to several service-based companies and has a good range of small to medium sized units available for rent.

Sneckyeat Road, Hensingham

This small, well established industrial estate is adjacent to Whitehaven Hospital, approximately two miles from Whitehaven’s town centre, 1.3 miles from Westlakes Science Park and 10 miles from Sellafield.

Red Lonning

This site is strategically located on the south western outskirts of Whitehaven with good road links to Workington (8 miles), Carlisle (38 miles) and Egremont (6 miles).  The site has 0.6 ha. of land which is available for development.
