    For the the past two years the annual Copeland Pride Awards for celebrating business achievements in Copeland has included an environmental category. 

    This is our green award, for the business that goes the extra mile in what it delivers and ensuring that the environment is at the heart of everything it does. This might mean a business that is reducing its carbon footprint, offers environmentally friendly products or something even more radical.

  2. Copeland Coastal Partnership

    On 30 June 2011 Copeland Borough Council launched a new Coastal Partnership. The Copeland Coastal Partnership brings together a range of organisations that have an interest in promoting and enhancing the coast to encourage more people to enjoy the benefits of what is on offer.

  1. Smoke Control Areas

    Do you live in a smoke contol area? You can find out by going to the 'my property' section of the website. Just click on the words 'my property' in the top green menu and enter your postcode. You will then be given a range of information about the property in which you live including whether or not it is in a smoke control area.

    The National Grid connects power stations and major substations and ensures that electricity generated anywhere in England, Scotland and Wales can be used to satisfy demand elsewhere.
