Mayor to hold public meeting in Seascale

Published: 06/10/2017

COPELAND Mayor Mike Starkie has announced a public meeting in Seascale.

Mr Starkie will hold the event in Seascale Methodist Church Hall on Wednesday, October 18 at 6.30pm, to give residents the chance to hear updates on a host of Copeland Council projects and to raise their own questions and issues.

Mr Starkie said: "When I was elected as Mayor I made a pledge that the Council will be open and transparent, and be accountable to the public.

"I've always made public meetings a priority, and those that have been held in the past have been well attended with a number of interesting and challenging questions raised.

"I held meetings in Millom, Cleator Moor, Egremont and Whitehaven last month and they were an excellent forum for debate and discussion. I'd urge everyone to join me at Seascale to raise and discuss the issues that are priorities for their local area."

Following a presentation from Mr Starkie, the floor will be opened up for questions from the public. If you would like a question answered but prefer not to raise it in public, email it in advance to communications@copeland.gov.uk
