The Beacon is undergoing a total refurbishment and the main museum floors will be closed until 5th October 2007.

The Beacon offers 5 unique rooms for private hire in it’s lighthouse-style building.

All types of conferences and meetings can be facilitated. We can provide a full range of conference facilities and catering can be arranged to suit your needs.

Met. Office Gallery - 4th floor

Boasting the most stunning views in town looking over the recently restored Harbour, the 4th floor gallery is the most unique reception space you will find in West Cumbria.

The circular room staged on 2 levels is perfect for buffets and prize-givings, talks and presentations .

Harbour Gallery - First Floor

A modern space with the added feature of being an art gallery.

When you book The Harbour Gallery you never know what will be decorating the walls.

Education Suite - Ground Floor

This is our most versatile room. Used for everything from drama classes and childrens’ workshops, to pre- and after-school groups, board meetings, lectures and photographic clubs.

Library

Quiet meeting space with scolarly ambience. The room can be hired for small group meetings, workshops or classes. Use of the library facilities for personal study is free of charge.

Dark Room

Photographic dark room with a full range of equipment available for use by experienced photographers or groups learning the art.
