Immigration Inspections
Applicants wishing to immigrate to the UK may be required to
provide a report to the British High Commission on Housing
Conditions to accompany their application. The report must
confirm that;
- The property they intend to live in has been inspected
- The property is accepted for occupation under the Housing Act
2004
- The property will not become overcrowded if they live
there
Copeland Borough Council is able to provide this
service. Please print off and complete the application form,
at the bottom of this page, which is in PDF format and return
to the Council Offices. The form must be completed before an
inspection can be undertaken. It is important that you provide all
the information requested on the form. If you do not there is
a possibility the High Commission will not accept the letter.
Please note that the accommodation must be owned or occupied
exclusively by you or your family. Rented accommodation, which is
shared with members of another family, is not acceptable.
After receiving your completed form an officer will contact you
to arrange a convenient time to undertake an inspection at the
property. During the inspection the officer will need to look
round the whole property and will be asked to outline who occupies
the house and in which rooms they sleep. Once the Council has
received your completed form we aim to make a visit and provide the
letter within 10 working days.
