The Borough of Copeland is located in the Western Lake
District area of the county of Cumbria, the most north-westerly
county in England. It is a
region of stunning physical environment and a
diverse culture and character within the communities who live and
work here.
Two thirds of the Borough lies within the world renowned Lake
District National Park, with the highest mountain (Scafell Pike)
and deepest lake (Wastwater) in England both to be found in the
heart of the Copeland area.

By ROAD:
The main road link is via the A66 from its junction with the M6 at
Penrith (Junction 40). Travel on the A66 until it meets the A595 at
Cockermouth, then on into the Copeland area. Other roads from
Carlisle to the north and Barrow to the south link to main routes
from Scotland, the North East and North West England.
By RAIL:
Carlisle and Lancaster stations have connections to the Cumbrian
Coast Line from the national West Coast Main Line (Glasgow to
London Euston), other cross-country routes connect to the West
Coast line from the North East, Scotland and Yorkshire.
The Cumbrian Coast line is a scenic journey, with views inland
of the Lake District, coastal features and beaches and then
offshore across to the Isle of Man and Scotland.
