The Beacon Museum is looking forward to a bumper summer and has some great family activities planned.

All craft sessions take place at 11am to 12noon and 2pm to 3pm.  Advance booking is essential to avoid disappointment.  Suitable for ages 3 to 12 years.   Children must be accompanied by an adult. £3 per child (does not include admission to the museum)

Thursday 24th July  Knotty Norse

Try your hand at alternative loom bands the Nordic way and then inscribe your name in runes with clay.

 

Wednesday 30th July Back to the Future

Where would you travel  and who would you like to meet if your time machine could take you anywhere? Re-cycling the retro way! 

 

 

Thursday 7th August  Jolly Rogers Rock!

“Ooh argh !Now where be that Beacon pirate treasure? “. Using card, paper and string today, Paper Pirates are the way .

 

Thursday 14th August  West is Best

Take inspiration from the sun, sea, sand and sail and create your own individual piece of felt and foam artwork.

 

Thursday 21st August  Potty About Puppets

“That’s the way to do it!” Become stage struck and create your own puppet theatre with recycled fabric and wooden spoons!

 

Thursday 28th August Mosaic Madness

Step back into history and create your very own Roman mosaic bowl. Choose your colours and design and let your imagination run riot with tissue paper.
