Revised list of voters to be published soon
The next Register of Electors, also known as the voters' roll, is published on 1 December 2014.
The way people register to vote has changed this year, following the introduction of Individual Electoral Registration. To be sure you are registered you need to complete and return any form sent to you or, if you have recently moved, you can register online.
Not only could you lose your vote if you don't register but being registered to vote can help with obtaining financial services, for example applying for a mortgage or a mobile phone contract.
You can check your registration after publication by calling Electoral Services or by asking at reception at The Copeland Centre.
The UK Parliamentary Election will be held on Thursday 7 May 2015. In Copeland there will also be local elections on that day.
You will only be able to vote if your name appears in the Register of Electors which lists all those eligible to vote in the various elections.
